With 20 years of legal experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her roles, including serving as 3rd Vice President for the Justices of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas, on the Austin Bar Association’s Board of Directors, and former President of the Rotary Club of Austin. She is committed to public service and volunteers in various initiatives, including membership on the Board for the Capital City Village and fostering civic engagement among students with Early Act First Knight.
Judge Raúl Arturo González was elected in November 2006 to the office of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3. Prior to being elected to the bench, González served as assistant counsel for the State Board of Educator Certification and the Texas Education Agency. He also worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Travis County District Attorney’s Office for 6 and a half years.
Judge González attended and received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas, and later returned to the University of Texas to earn his law degree. He has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since 1996. In addition to his service to the community, he has also served the legal profession in leadership positions through organizations such as the Austin Young Lawyers, Austin Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association, Robert Calvert Inn of Court, Justice of the Peace and Constable’s Association, and various local democrat organizations.
